Exchanging actually takes a lot of work – so far we have filled in about a hundred applications (erasmus, forhåndsgodkjenning, faginnpassing, application for Universiteit van Amsterdam and so on..).
(Actually Kevin has filled in about 200 ;P)
Also, we’re trying to rent out our apartment from January 15th until August 1st, and so we’ve made this ad:
Kjempekoselig 2-roms leilighet i sentrum (indre Sandviken, Bergen)
Since we’re leaving for a student exchange in the Spring of 2008, we’ll be renting out our charming apartment, fully furnished, from January 15th 2008 until August 1st 2008. The apartment is on the first floor (US: 2nd floor) of a quaint wooden house from the 1800’s, centrally located in Bergen (just past Støletorget in the inner part of Sandviken, a ten minute walk down to Bryggen). The apartment measures 452 Sq ft (42 m²). It’s perhaps best suited for a couple, although it is possible to use the living room as an extra bedroom (the sofa there is a double sofabed / futon).
The apartment contains:
* Shared hallway, with lots of room for coats
– dishwasher, oven, microwave oven, fridge w/freezer, lots of cupboards, three chairs
* Living room
– sofabed (double bed sized), table, two wicker chairs and two regular chairs, book case, two CD-racks
– fireplace, double bed, book case, desk, office chair, nightstand, large shelves with lots of room for clothing/books
* Hallway / storage room
– cupboards with lots of storage space and clothes rack
* Bathroom / shower room with laminate floor – part of it recently renovated
We allow pets, but not smoking.
The apartment has an old-fashioned look, and is well taken care of. There are white painted walls, laminate floors apart from in the living room where the old wooden floor is preserved, a fireplace and a kitchen. The large windows make the apartment light and pleasant. A must see!
A small back yard is shared with the rest of the house.
The location is ideal — centrally situated, but sheltered from the noisiest parts of town, with a nice park just by and in walking distance from Fjellveien and other hiking areas.
We can let the coffee-maker, water-boiler and toaster stay if the renter wishes this. The same goes for some kitchen equipment, dishes, clothes hangers, a small fan heater, clothes racks etc. (but we’ll discuss this if it’s of interest). You can just about move in here with nothing but a toothbrush.
The rent is kr 7000 per month, internet included, electricity not included.
